The owner’s corporation can dispose of abandoned goods left on the common property only if they are deemed perishable goods or rubbish and a disposal notice is issued with the correct notice.
- Identify the goods – are they perishable goods ie (food), or rubbish
- Has a disposal notice has been left on or near the goods to be disposed of
- Dispose of the goods if sufficient notice has been provided and the goods have not been collected by the owner
- Abandonment of vehicle – An owner’s corporation can move a vehicle that blocks an exit or entrance or otherwise prevents the use of common property. The owner’s corporation must meet certain notice requirements before it can move the vehicle.
